Skill Descriptions

Aphotic Shield
Summons dark energies around an ally unit, creating a shield that absorbs a set amount of damage before expiring. When the shield is destroyed it will deal damage equal to the amount it absorbed to an 300 AOE around it. If cast on self while using borrowed time, the damage you take will heal you. Lasts 20 seconds.
Level 1 - 125 damage.
Level 2 - 175 damage.
Level 3 - 225 damage.
Level 4 - 275 damage.
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 22
Note/s: Aphotic Shield is needed to fight heroes throughout the game. Even if Abbadon is built, he may still need the Shield’s power. If you want to harrass at early game, cast Aphotic Shield on the first creep. Make sure that the creep that you Shielded will be the creep that the opposing team’s wave will hit first.
—————————————————————————————

Death Coil
A coil of death that can damage an enemy unit or heal a friendly unit at the cost of his own life. Manacost decreases per level.
Level 1 - Heals or Damages for 100 HP. Deals 50 HP to himself.
Level 2 - Heals or Damages for 150 HP. Deals 75 HP to himself.
Level 3 - Heals or Damages for 200 HP. Deals 100 HP to himself.
Level 4 - Heals or Damages for 250 HP. Deals 125 HP to himself.
Mana Cost: 75
Cooldown: 15
Note/s: A little bit risky on the early parts of the game. But if you know you are going to die, it’s reccommended to do Death Coil to avoid death from an enemy. On killing terms, use Death Coil if the enemy gets away with a considerably low amount of life.
————————————————————————————

Frostmourne
Abaddon strikes an enemy with Frostmourne’s chilling power on each attack, causing all units who attack the slowed enemy to gain 10% increased movement speed, along with faster attack speed, for a limited time.
Level 1 - 10% increased attack speed, slows enemy by 5%.
Level 2 - 20% increased attack speed, slows enemy by 10%.
Level 3 - 30% increased attack speed, slows enemy by 15%.
Level 4 - 40% increased attack speed, slows enemy by 20%.
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A
Note/s: Abbadon’s only skill that could help him kill without using any other abilities. Slowing the enemy would be a great help to Abbadon. Bonus attack speed would help Abbadon especially with strong items.
—————————————————————————————–

Borrowed Time
Whenever you take damage and your hitpoints drop below 400 you will no longer lose hitpoints. Can be manualy cast. Cannot counter Culling Blade.
Level 1 - Lasts 4 seconds.
Level 2 - Lasts 5 seconds.
Level 3 - Lasts 6 seconds.
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: 60
Note/s: This is the main skill Abbadon for survival and for killing. You can use Borrowed Time in alot of ways. Here are examples:
1) When fighting an enemy, a little distance away from your enemy use Borrowed Time. After that quickly attack the enemy. He will do no damage in that time. That would be an advantage if the fight lasts longer than the duration of Borrowed Time. You will have full life while the enemy would have a considerably lower life than you. When Borrowed Time finishes, use Aphotic Shield.
2) When reaching a critical health but you know that you stand a chance against the enemy, use Borrowed Time then Aphotic Shield. Quickly attack the enemy and you’ll see you are not getting hit and your gaining life.

Questions on Skill Build
Why get Aphotic Shield first than Frostmourne?
Aphotice Shield will ensure a higher percentage of surviving against high damagers, harrassers etc… If a high level of Aphotic Shield is used with Borrowed Time, you will heal more and release more damage. If you get Frostmourne first, you may have a stronger slow, but you may be easily ganged. With the weaker leveled Aphotic Shield, there is a lower percent that you would live. If you get Death Coil first, you may avoid death from an enemy but think of this. If you had Aphotic Shield you could have lived on some circumstances.
Why Frostmourne over Death Coil?
You should get Frostmourne first for reducing the targets movement speed. Abbadon also gains attack speed and movespeed when attacking with Frostmourne. On the other hand, if you get Death Coil, you may kill some people but you lose life. With lower life, the more your foes can ensure a kill in a backstab or such.
Item Build/s
Early Game:

Boots of Speed: Useful item for extra speed.

Ring of Regen: Essencial for regenerating in the early parts of the game.

Ring of Basilius: Requirement for Vladimir’s Offering, also essencial for giving mana regeneration (For spamming Aphotic Shield if you want) and some armor.
Middle Game

Power Treads: Sooner or later, boots has to be upgraded. More movespeed and attack speed would help alot.

Vladimir’s Offering: A good item at any part of the game. Some armor, mana regeneration, damage and lifesteal would be a benefit mostly to your melee allies and yourself.

2 Vanguards: Abbadon may be a tank, but being more tank wouldn’t hurt. A cheap and effective way to be tanker in a middle part of a game. (Optional, you could go straight to Heart of Tarrasque)
Late game

Power Treads: More movespeed and attack speed would help alot.

Vladimir’s Offering: A good item at any part of the game. Some armor, mana regeneration, damage and lifesteal would be a benefit mostly to your melee allies and yourself.

Satanic: This item will make Abbadon tanker and at the same time goes well with Vladimir’s Offering’s lifesteal.

Monkey King Bar: More damage and more attack speed. The higher the attack speed, the more chances to do MKB’s special ability

Radiance: A little evasion would help. The extra damage benefits with VO and Satanic.
Full Build

: This will back up the lost vanguards. This item makes you tons tanker.
Alternative

Mask of Madness: You could consider getting this item instead of Satanic, but this could be more risky. Though Abbadon is tank anyway.

Sange and Yasha: This could also be an alternate item instead of Satanic. Movement speed, attack speed and some stats would be good. Maim would help lots too.

The Buttefly: This could be an alternate item for Vladimir. Attack speed and evasion would go really well with Abbadon.
Strategy
Denying creeps
Denying creeps is essencial for making your enemies underleveled. It prevents enemies from killing creeps. Thus, the enemy cannot farm well.
Chicken
The chicken is needed to buy items while you are in battle or is away from the base. If you are pushing or near-death, quickly buy what you need before you die. If ever you died, at least you have bought a needed item.
Harrassing enemies
Casting Aphotic Shield on the creep that will be hit by the opposing team’s creeps will be a big advantage for you if there are enemy heroes on the other side. When the Shield breaks, the enemy hero will take some damage. Then cast Death Coil on the enemy hero. Repeat the harrassing strategy over and over again. After some time, you have two choices to do. And they are:
1) If you are positive that you can kill the harrassed enemy, try a backstab.
2) If you are not positive that you can kill the harrassed enemy, just keep doing the harrassment. The enemy hero will be forced to go back. Giving time to push and keeping the enemy underleveled.
Killing enemy creeps and heroes
Killing creeps: There are several strategies on how to kill enemy creeps. Some of them are:
1) Hold your position and press the Alt button. Check all the enemy creeps’ life. Calculate the time you get there with your current movement speed. After that, attack the low lifed creep for the last hit.
2) Keep hitting the creep. After some hits, wait before the last strike. When you are sure that your damage is efficient to kill the enemy creep, attack it.
These strategies aren’t reccommended if you are built. Since you have strong damage when you are built, you can just attack enemy creep over and over.
Killing Heroes: There are several strategies on using Borrowed Time above. By following one of the strategies, you may kill a hero. When fighting someone like Viper, it is reccommended that you harrass it first. Build faster and you’ll get to kill heroes like Viper in no time. Example: You engange a Lina Inverse. Lina Starts with a stun, it hits you. After that she launches a Dragon Slave on you. You are left with about 510 life. You know that she will cast Laguna Blade. Activate Borrowed Time then quickly follow up with an Aphotic Shield. She’ll be surprised after doing a Laguna Blade and you don’t get hit. Keep hitting her until she gets to a low life. Try to avoid her stun as much as possible. When she gets to a really low life, Death Coil her. Don’t bother using Death Coil on her if you have a very low life too.\
Survival
Surviving throughout the game isn’t very much of a problem to Abbadon. Being a tank with skills that can ensure living after nukes or such, surviving with Abbadon is easier than most heroes. You can always cast Aphotic Shield on yourself. If it doesn’t work, activate Borrowed Time. If you rarely die or didn’t die at all in the early parts of the game and you creeped well, you will have an easy time when the game progresses since you never or rarely died (You lost only little money) and creeped well.
Neutral creeping
If you died alot or have problems creeping, try killing the neutral creeps. Kill the right level of creeps depending on how strong you are. If you are still weak, it is reccommended that you don’t fight the creeps that are close to the secret shops.
Pushing
Pushing is sort of a hard job for Abbadon. Since frostmourne’s bonuses doesn’t work on enemy towers, Abbadon will have some problems destroying enemy towers alone. Some ally heroes that can support you could help. If they are dying, return the favor by healing them with Death Coil or protecting them with Aphotic Shield.
Backdoor Strategy
If the rules allow this strategy, it would be a great help. Lanes that are being pushed by your enemies but have low lifed towers will be a target for Backdooring. Attack without creeps either alone or with your allies to stop creep waves and killing low lifed towers.
Heroes that can help Abbadon
Sentinel

Scourge

Stuns, slow and disable skills all benefit Abbadon.
Worst enemies of Abbadon
Sentinel

Scourge

Beware of these heroes. Fight them with caution. Each of these heroes have their specialties. If they get to build faster than you, your in trouble. Have support from your allies, quickly kill repeatedly these heroes if they are your enemies. Disables, stuns and slow skills also may kill Abbadon.
