Section 1: Introduction to the Bounty Hunter

Hello everyone! I’m back! I’m doing a guide on Gondar, my current favorite hero. This is my third guide overall. I hope you have read my other two guides on Faceless Void and Nerubian Weaver. I have to say that this is the best guide out of the three, and I guarantee that you will master the Bounty Hunter once you finish reading this guide.

Gondar is one of those heroes that may seem to really be difficult to play with. When you get to use him for the first time, I’m certain that you will get the feeling that you are uncomfortable with Gondar. But once you net your first kill, you will learn to like Gondar and his role on the team. He is really fun to play as. That’s why he became my favorite hero, because of the fun factor you get when you play as him. I hope once you have finished reading this guide and have a godlike streak, you will have the same opinion I have on Gondar. Enjoy reading my guide!

Section 2: Fast Facts about Gondar

Life Story:

“Gondar is a Draenei that is often called upon for his superior skills. Not much is known about his past, but his capabilities are extraordinary. Some believe he learned from a ninja clan while others say he was born with his amazing abilities. He is able to throw shurikens with extreme accuracy and has the strength to strike down any foe with his two swift blades. His agility is matched by none, and his stealth is inferior to only a few. He is interested in the tournament for money alone, and promised a huge reward.”

Gondar’s Attributes:

HP Regen: 0.76 | Mana Regen: 0.57
Attack Speed: 1.34 (+ 21% IAS) | Armor: 4

Section 3: Gondar’s Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths
+ can easily escape gangbangs with Wind Walk
+ deadly hero killer
+ high attack speed
+ the only hero in the game with Wind Walk, critical, evasion and nuke
+ can use many item builds

Weaknesses
- Low HP
- Can easily be killed if enemy has Gem of True Sight
- Prone to nukes early game
- Not much of a team player

Section 4: Gondar’s Past Appearances

Gondar appeared in previous games. Most notably, he came from Warcraft III: Frozen Throne. His character model is actually taken from a Draenei. Draeneis appeared in the Alliance Campaign, one of the three campaigns in the Frozen Throne. They are a race fighting with the ruthless Fel Orcs, led by the Pit Lord, Magtheridon. Illidan helped them fight and defeat Magtheridon. That’s the story of the Draenei. They lived in peace after that event. Anyway, Gondar’s character model is the same as that of Akama, the Draenei’s Elder Sage, and a Draenei Watcher.

Section 5: Gondar’s Skills

IPB Image
Shuriken Toss (T)
The Bounty Hunter throws a shuriken at a target unit, dealing damage.
Level 1 - 100 damage.
Level 2 - 200 damage.
Level 3 - 250 damage.
Level 4 - 325 damage.
Mana Cost: 90/ 115/ 135/ 155
Cooldown: 10

Comments:
One of the best nukes in the game. It deals superior damage to enemy heroes early game. Make sure to max Shuriken Toss as soon as possible. Early game harassing is impossible with Gondar without this skill, and be sure to maximize it to its fullest potential. That is why in this guide I have a separate section reserved for just Shuriken Toss. Be sure not to miss it! It tells you how to use Shuriken Toss in as many ways as possible.

IPB Image
Jinada (J)
Gives a % chance to evade attacks and 15% chance to deal extra damage.
Level 1 - 5% dodge, 1.25 critical multiplier.
Level 2 - 10% dodge, 1.5 critical multiplier.
Level 3 - 15% dodge, 1.75 critical multiplier.
Level 4 - 20% dodge, 2 critical multiplier.
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A

Comments:
Gondar is really lucky of having one of the better passive skills around. Evasion and Critical on one skill? That’s sick. That’s why Gondar doesn’t need Buriza-do Kyanon or Butterfly. This skill has the benefit you get from those two items. The only downside of this skill is the rather low chance of getting a critical hit. The percentage of the critical chance is the same as Mortred’s ultimate, but Jinada is twice as weak. The remedy of this is simply get attack speed boosting items. You’d be a fool not to buy a Hyperstone or Sange and Yasha for the maximum occurrence of Jinada.

IPB Image
Wind Walk (W)
Turn invisible for a period of time. Deals bonus backstab damage.
Level 1 - 30 backstab damage, lasts 15 seconds.
Level 2 - 60 backstab damage, lasts 20 seconds.
Level 3 - 90 backstab damage, lasts 25 seconds.
Level 4 - 120 backstab damage, lasts 30 seconds.
Mana Cost: 50
Cooldown: 25

Comments:
Gondar’s Wind Walk can be used for offense and defense, unlike the Bone Fletcher’s Wind Walk. The only downside on Gondar’s Wind Walk is that he doesn’t gain any added movement speed while using the skill, while the Bone Fletcher has. However, Gondar has the added backstab damage. For more information on how to use Wind Walk, go to Section 10. Like Shuriken Toss, I have reserved a section just for Wind Walk.

IPB Image
Track ®
Tracks an enemy unit for 90 seconds or until it dies. If you kill a hero, you pawn its head for extra money. Each level decreases the cooldown and increases the cast range. It also gives 20% bonus movement speed to Bounty Hunter
Level 1 - Any hero kill is worth 50 bonus gold, reduces target’s armor by 1.
Level 2 - Any hero kill is worth 100 extra gold, reduces target’s armor by 2.
Level 3 - Any hero kill is worth 150 extra gold, reduces target’s armor by 4.
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 10

Comments:
Track is more useful that you think. You can chase a fleeing hero with ease using this skill. Even better, you receive extra cash after a hero kill. You will be rolling in dough if you kill your adversaries using Track. Killing heroes is also easier because Track reduces the enemy’s armor by 4. Ouch. You can do incredible amounts of damage as long as the enemy is under Track. Truly an underestimated skill and it is one of the best ultimate skills in the game. Use this as often as possible. Track generally makes your life easier. Also, you can sigh with relief after a hero kill. Usually Gondar players often have an enemy hero with very little HP left as they escape. They also almost always forget to use Track. That’s how important Track is. Another importance of Track is you can able to invisible units. So, you can counter those pesky invisible heroes like the Bone Fletcher and the Stealth Assassin. Just make sure to cast Track on them.

Skill Build Explanation:

This is my personal skill build for Gondar. It allows you to be efficient at all levels. Getting Wind Walk as the very first skill is very important. It allows you to escape early game ganks. On the other hand, you can use Wind Walk for a sneaky early game kill. Be sure to maximize the use of Wind Walk at the early stages of the game, because it costs very little mana and has a short cooldown. Use it to your advantage. Shuriken Toss is the next skill to get. Shuriken Toss has a lot of damage in the early game. Use this to harass your opponent and try to get him back to the fountain. Focus on maxing out Shuriken Toss before Jinada. Jinada gets more effective as the game goes on, so it would be wise to invest skill points into this skill after you have completely maxed out Shuriken Toss. Track is not that all important getting it immediately at level 6. Only invest skill points on Track when you already have at least a Boots of Speed and Yasha. These two items ensure the use of Track, because when you have better movespeed Track becomes more effective. After you have maxed out Shuriken Toss and Jinada, be sure to max Wind Walk. Oh, and don’t forget to max out Track when you are at level 16 as well! This is the most flexible skill build for Gondar, because you can adapt to any kind of situation with this build. For new Gondar players, I highly suggest you stick with this build!

Skill Build Explanation:

This is the other build for Gondar. It is used by advanced Gondar players. Sometimes, I use this build. The only major difference in this build is that Wind Walk is maxed out at the earliest possible level. The reason why this is called the aggressive build because Wind Walk is used for early game offense. Wind Walk is the most important skill in this build. It allows you to deal great damage to an enemy early in the game. Backstabbing is the key for Wind Walk kills. Be sure to catch the enemy off guard. It is really rare in a game wherein a hero is so aggressive to get kills. Wind Walk does quite a heap of damage in this stage in the game, coupled with your normal attack. I will explain on how to use Wind Walk in this skill build. Turn to Section 10, the Wind Walk tips. Other than the Wind Walk, the other skills are the same as my build. So the same strategy implies on this build.

Section 7: Gondar’s Item Builds

Scenario: 5v5 AP game

First Item Build: The Invisible Killer (Standard Gondar Build)
At the start of the game:

IPB Image + IPB Image

Ring of Regeneration, Flask of Sapphire Water

These two items will enable you to survive, farm, kill, and level up throughout the early game. Ring of Regeneration is a great first item for any agility hero, and no exception to Gondar. Ring of Regeneration is very economical. It is very cheap, and allows you to stay in your lane much longer. When you are being harassed, be sure to take time to heal with this item. While you are healing, you can leech experience at the same time. Talk about multitasking! The Flask of Sapphire Water will enable you to regain HP quickly when you are badly hurt. When your life reaches red, use Wind Walk, then go back to the safety to your tower and use your flask. You can continue using this method until you think you have the gold to buy the next items you need.

On your first trip back to the fountain:

IPB Image
Boots of Speed

You definitely need Boots of Speed to increase your movespeed. Without this item, you move very slowly. So this item is a must. Boots of Speed helps you in moving faster.

IPB Image
Ogre Axe

An Ogre Axe grants you +10 strength, so it’s a great item to have in this stage of the game. Gondar’s HP is low compared to other heroes, so this is just the item he needs to be able to keep up with other heroes. This item is also very affordable, it costs only 1000 gold for an additional 10 strength. An additional 10 strength is quite a lot in this stage of the game. I highly suggest buying this immediately when you have the money.

IPB Image
Belt of Giant Strength

This item is a component of Sange, one of your first items. I suggest getting Ogre Axe before the Belt of Giant Strength. Be sure the buy this item after Ogre Axe.

Buy the next items in order:

IPB Image
Sange Recipe = forming Sange
Description:
+16 Strength
+5 Damage
Effect: Maim
5% chance, +30 dmg
-20% attack speed
-30% movement speed for 5 sec
Orb effects do not stack

Sange is one of the components of your first major item, Sange and Yasha. Sange grants you the additional HP, which is very useful at surviving and outlasting enemy heroes. The reason why I get Sange before Yasha is additional HP is more needed than additional movespeed. Besides, you have Track for an additional 20% movespeed. If you are chasing down a hero, and you don’t have Yasha yet, be sure to use your Track. Also, this items nullifies the need for Bracers, which help you save money. Plus, it’s a component of the Sange and Yasha, so it’s very economical.

IPB Image
Blades of Alacrity

It is just like the Ogre Axe, except it grants you +10 agility instead of +10 strength. The added agility is handy for farming purposes. It allows you to attack quicker and be more efficient in making money.

IPB Image
Boots of Elvenskin

The agility counterpart of Belt of Giant Strength. Buy this item in order to complete the components of a Yasha.

IPB Image
Yasha Recipe = forming Yasha
Description:
+16 Agility
+5% incr movement speed
+5% incr attack speed.

[The additional movespeed this item gives is awesome. Gondar can be one of the fastest heroes in this game with this item, and be sure to upgrade it to a Sange and Yasha for better results.

IPB Image
Sange and Yasha Recipe = forming Sange and Yasha
Description:
+16 Agility
+16 Strength
+16 Damage
+10% incr movement speed, +10% incr attack speed
Effect: Maim
10% chance, -35% attack speed
-35% movement speed for 6 sec
Orb effects do not stack

This item is my personal favorite. Because it has so many benefits. You get additional HP, movespeed and attack speed in this great item. Plus, it has the Maim effect, which is very useful in finishing off heroes when it does occur. It also takes up only one item slot. A great item to have, especially to agility heroes like Gondar. Also, once you have this item, you can kill heroes with ease. Your superior movespeed will enable you to outrun most heroes, guaranteeing you a surefire kill. Maim also really hurts when it takes effect.

IPB Image
Quarterstaff

Get this item in order to being one step closer in obtaining your next major item. This item is cheap, and it grants you additional damage and attack speed.

IPB Image
Demon Edge

The damage this item gives is rather crazy. The downside is this item is rather expensive, so you must be really very careful not to die while saving up for a Demon Edge.

IPB Image
Monkey King Bar Recipe = forming Monkey King Bar
Description:
+75 Damage
+15% Attack Speed
Passive: Bonus Damage
90 Damage to Target 0.01 Second Stun 30% Chance
For melee heroes, the bonus damage is considered to be magic attack, while for ranged heroes, the bonus damage is considered to be physical attack.

In my opinion, this is one of the best damage items in the game. Every hit grants you bonus damage, plus a mini-stun is thrown in. A Monkey King Bar makes Gondar a very dangerous threat to his enemies, as he becomes a deadly hero killer. You will be surely feared once you obtain this item. Since you already have a Sange and Yasha, killing off heroes has never been easy once you have the two core items in this build. That two core items are Sange and Yasha and the famed Monkey King Bar. A Monkey King Bar is more beneficial than a Buriza-do Kyanon since Gondar already has Jinada. He definitely benefits from the damage a Monkey King Bar gives.

IPB Image
Hyperstone
Description:
+55% increased attack speed

Hyperstone further enhances your attack speed, thus makes you an even more serious hero killer. You can defeat heroes more quickly with this item. Hyperstone will not only help you in killing heroes, but also enhances your farming skills. You can farm creeps so fast when you have a Hyperstone. That way, you can earn money much faster as soon as you get Hyperstone.

IPB Image
Boots of Travel Recipe = forming Boots of Travel
Description:
+90 Run Speed
Active: Teleport
60 Second Cooldown 3 Second Cast Time

At this time of the game, defending or pushing multiple lanes is very relevant. So if you want to travel from one lane to another in the fastest possible way, I recommend this item. I believe Boots of Travel is more important than a Power Treads because Boots of Travel gives Gondar more movespeed. The additional attack speed you get from Power Treads is useless because Gondar is an agility hero, and most agility heroes attack so quick in the late game. You also have a Hyperstone, so Power Treads doesn’t benefit Gondar.

Usually the game ends after I get the Boots of Travel. If the game still goes on, try to get the following items:

IPB Image
Monkey King Bar
Description:
+75 Damage
+15% Attack Speed
Passive: Bonus Damage
90 Damage to Target 0.01 Second Stun 30% Chance
For melee heroes, the bonus damage is considered to be magic attack, while for ranged heroes, the bonus damage is considered to be physical attack.

A second Monkey King Bar stacks with the first one, so you can just imagine how deadly you can be if you have two Monkey King Bars. You will be the best hero killer in the game if you have multiple Monkey King Bars.

IPB Image
Heart of Tarrasque
Description:
+300 Hit Points
+11 HP/Sec Regeneration
+35 Strength

Since Gondar has low HP compared to others, it won’t hurt to have a Heart of Tarrasque. It greatly increases Gondar’s HP. This item will enable you to overcome strength heroes late game. You can also have an insane HP regeneration rate with this item. This item is great to further bolster your stats, so it is a must have after you get the core items.

IPB Image
Divine Rapier
Description:
+250 Damage
Drops upon Death
Cannot be Dropped

Do you want to cause mayhem? Here’s the item that will definitely give you total superiority on the battlefield – The Divine Rapier. It’s very expensive, but certainly lives up to its expectations. You will kill heroes in record time if you have this item. I must warn you though; the Divine Rapier must only be used by skilled players. It’s mighty hard to farm for it. Also, if you die, you will drop your precious Rapier. That’s like wasting 7800 gold. Worse, your enemy will probably get your Rapier and use it against you. So don’t die at any cost when you have a Divine Rapier. Gondar is one of the best heroes who can use it to its fullest potential.

Second Item Build: Permabash Bounty Hunter (Fun Gondar Build)
At the start of the game:

It is just like the Ogre Axe, except it grants you +10 agility instead of +10 strength. The added agility is handy for farming purposes. It allows you to attack quicker and be more efficient in making money.

IPB Image
Boots of Elvenskin

The agility counterpart of Belt of Giant Strength. Buy this item in order to complete the components of a Yasha.

IPB Image

Yasha Recipe = forming Yasha
Description:
+16 Agility
+5% incr movement speed
+5% incr attack speed.

The additional movespeed this item gives is awesome.

IPB Image
Gauntlets of Ogre Strength

It is one of the items needed to form a Cranium Basher. I suggest saving 3220 gold straight, as buying a Gauntlet, Mithril Hammer and the recipe separately is confusing. You can farm fast anyway because of your Sange and Yasha.

IPB Image
Mithril Hammer

Grants the user 24 bonus damage. This item is great because it helps you get your attack damage higher. Also, it is a component of the Cranium Basher.

IPB Image
Cranium Basher Recipe = Forming Cranium Basher
Description:
+30 Damage
+3 Str
Passive: Bash
15% Chance (10% for Ranged), 1.1 Second Stun
+25 Bonus Damage on Bash

This item is the sole reason why this item build is called the “Permabash Bounty Hunter”. Since Gondar doesn’t have a natural stun or disable, this item certainly suits him. Having a Cranium Basher greatly increases Gondar’s usefulness in the game, as it will help him get extra hits on the enemy without the opponent striking back at him. This is a huge advantage. Since a Cranium Basher’s chance to bash is only 15%, you need another Basher and attack speed boosting items for the bash to take effect regularly.

Description:
+30 Damage
+3 Str
Passive: Bash
15% Chance (10% for Ranged), 1.1 Second Stun
+25 Bonus Damage on Bash

By completing your 2nd Cranium Basher, enemy heroes will surely fear you in combat. The chance for you to bash goes up by 15%, making it 30% overall. 2 Cranium Bashers is enough, because your attack speed is very fast. Permabash is now a reality. You will certainly experience the thrill I get by bashing enemy heroes to death! They will just stand there, not having a chance to even strike back at you once. Since Gondar also has Jinada, you can finish enemy heroes off with ease.

IPB Image
Hyperstone
Description:
+55% increased attack speed

This item completes the core build. More attack speed means the bash will certainly occur a lot more. A Hyperstone is a great item to have, because a permabash build depends on how fast your attack speed is. Without this, Gondar will not be able to bash that effectively. This item is a must have, and get it after you have completed 2 Cranium Bashers.

IPB Image
Aegis of the Immortal
Description:
35% Spell Resistance
30% chance to block 60 damage
+10 Armor
Charged: Reincarnation 3 Charges
1500 Hitpoints Regenerated

If you want to be tougher on the battlefield, then this is the item to have. This item lets you go out and face enemy heroes without fear of dying. The main purpose to have this item is to push one lane while your allies push in another lane. That’s because Gondar can push a lane with the items he has late game, and can escape a gank with his Wind Walk. If the enemy has a gem, his movespeed alone will be usually enough to get him out of danger.

Third Item Build: Aggressive Bounty Hunter (Risky Gondar Build)

IPB Image
Gauntlets of Ogre Strength

Buy this in order to have extra HP to survive in your lane.

IPB Image
Circlet of Nobility

Get this item because it is a component of a Bracer.

IPB Image
Bracer Recipe = Forming Bracer.
Description:
+3 all attributes
+3 Strength

Bracers are essential early game survival items. The additional stats it gives is a great asset to Gondar. Added HP will also help him in the long run.

IPB Image
Ring of Health

Ring of Health enables Gondar to have excellent HP regeneration. Coupled with the Ring of Regeneration, the enemy will surely have a hard time harassing you with your insane HP regeneration.

IPB Image
Void Stone

]100% Mana Regeneration is more than enough for Gondar to spam his Shuriken Toss.

IPB Image

Ring of Health + Void Stone = Forming Perseverance
Description:
+100% Mana Regeneration
+4 HP/Sec Regeneration
+7 Damage

A Perseverance is a exceptional early game item for the Bounty Hunter. The regeneration rate it gives is great for both HP and mana. This item will definitely help Gondar survive and farm well throughout the early stages of the game.

IPB Image
Claymore

While this item is quite expensive, it does have its benefits. The damage it gives is more than enough at this stage of the game.

IPB Image
Mithril Hammer

Again, a great item to have. Mithril Hammer increases Gondar’s effectiveness on the battlefield. It also completes your Battle Fury.

IPB Image
Perseverance + Claymore + Mithril Hammer = Forming Battle Fury
Description:
+100% Mana Regeneration
+4 HP/Sec Regeneration
+55 Damage
Passive: Cleaving Attack 160 Radius 35% Splash Damage

Ever seen anyone use Gondar with a Battle Fury? Now you see one! Gondar is already an insane farmer with his high attack damage and critical hits. Why don’t we add a cleaving attack to wipe out creep waves in seconds? That is possible once you obtain Battle Fury. You can push lanes with relative ease. When an enemy comes to backstabs you, use your Wind Walk and push in another lane.

IPB Image
Point Booster

Gondar’s HP is quite low, so a Point Booster benefits him greatly. This item also increases his mana pool, which means more effective spamming of Shuriken Toss.

IPB Image
Ultimate Orb

The +10 in stats is nothing to be trifled with. The only thing is, this item is quite costly. Be sure not to die while farming for an Ultimate Orb.

IPB Image
Ultimate Orb

The 2nd Ultimate orb is another step closer in obtaining an Eye of Skadi.

IPB Image
Eye of Skadi recipe = forming Eye of Skadi.
Description:
+150 Hit Points, +200 Mana
+25 to All Attributes
Passive: Frost Attack
-20% Attack Speed
-30% Run Speed
2 Second Duration
Melee Eye of Skadi is an orb effect, and does not stack with orb effects; Ranged Eye of Skadi is NOT an orb effect, and stacks with some orb effects.

The Eye of Skadi is one of the most expensive items in the game, but this item is also one of the most effective. Having a permanent slow attack lets you catch up to fleeing hero. Coupled with Track, no hero can surely escape you. You will own heroes once you obtain this item. Be sure to cast Track first for the bonus movement speed and the armor reduction, then whack away. Gondar is an enemy to be feared once the Eye of Skadi is in his grasp. Not only the slow attack benefit, but also the additional stats the Eye of Skadi gives to the Bounty Hunter. His HP and mana is greatly increased, which ensures his dominance.

IPB Image
Hyperstone
Description:
+55% increased attack speed

You notice that I use Hyperstone in all my item builds. That’s how important this item is to the Bounty Hunter. More attack speed means finishing off enemy heroes quicker. While you are already a great farmer with your Battle Fury, having a Hyperstone enables you to farm like a maniac. All creeps will die beneath your feet.

IPB Image

IPB Image
Monkey King Bar
Description:
+75 Damage
+15% Attack Speed
Passive: Bonus Damage
90 Damage to Target 0.01 Second Stun 30% Chance
For melee heroes, the bonus damage is considered to be magic attack, whiel for ranged heroes, the bonus damage is considered to be physical attack.

This item is a great way to further boost Gondar’s attack damage. Dealing bonus 90 damage to every attack hurts your opponents. Plus, a mini stun is thrown in. This makes an opponent stop in his tracks for a short while, enabling you to land a few hits on him.

Section 8: Game Strategy

Early Game (Level 1 – 8)

Pick the Bounty Hunter before anyone else does. Buy your Ring of Regeneration and Flask of Sapphire Water. Immediately go to the top lane for Scourge, bottom lane for Sentinel. These lanes are the best for Gondar since it allows him to have the enemy near his tower most of the time. Request for a solo lane to level up faster. Gondar is quite capable of going solo because he can harass with Shuriken Toss and escape with Wind Walk. Remember; always get the last hit on the creeps. Make sure to hold down the ALT button to see the enemy creep’s HP. When it turns red, attack him for the last hit, then pull back to your ranged creep. Don’t go foolishly attacking creeps continuously, because surely you will take damage. Gondar’s HP is not that high. Try also to deny as much creeps as possible to frustrate your opponent and denying them gold. Occasionally, when you have the mana, use your Shuriken Toss on the enemy hero. The damage of the Shuriken Toss is high in this time of the game, so it can harass your opponent to a great extent. If you see an opportunity for a kill, go for it. Always use Shuriken Toss as your finisher. You can probably net first blood against melee opponents, but ranged opponents can probably net you first blood. If you are badly hurt, use Wind Walk. Go back to your tower and use your Flask of Sapphire Water. You can probably farm enough gold to buy a Boots of Speed and Sange or 2 Bracers, depending on what build you have chosen. So go back to your base and buy the items you need. You will probably be level 8 or so.

Mid Game (Level 9 – 16)

Go back to your lane and you should be buffed up a bit with added HP. Continue to farm well, and be on the lookout for ganks. This is the time in the game where heroes start to backstab in pairs. Use your Wind Walk if ever you see them coming to you. You can escape ganks most of the time because of your Wind Walk and enemies don’t have a Gem at this time of the game. Focus on obtaining your Yasha for the added movement speed. Also, be aware of your enemy’s HP. If their HP drops down to yellow, go for the kill. Use Wind Walk, and then cast Track. Whack away and use your Shuriken Toss for the finishing blow. However, if his allies come to help him, forget the kill. You can’t afford to be killed because it will waste you precious time. If you have enough money for your Sange and Yasha or Battle Fury, go back to your base and buy the items. You should be farming effectively now. Once you have your Sange and Yasha, now is the tine to get some kills. Use your Wind Walk to scout the map for unsuspecting enemies, and then mercilessly attack them. With your superior movement speed and the Maim effect, the kill is surely yours. If you have Battle Fury, then push a lane and try to destroy towers to help your team. Now, focus on obtaining your next items.

Late Game (Level 17 – 25)

This is the time in the game where Gondar really shines. Sick attack speed, insane damage and superior movespeed are just some of the things to describe Gondar in the late game. Sure, while killing heroes is fun once you have your Monkey King Bar or Eye of Skadi or Cranium Bashers, don’t neglect your team. Help them while they are in trouble and push a lane all the way to the enemy’s base. Always try to get your team to stick together. Don’t try to wander off all alone because probably the enemy has a Gem now. Push all sides so your enemies would have a difficult time. Destroy the enemy’s barracks for your creeps to become stronger. If your enemies are also sticking together, make sure you also go as a team. Try to lure them out of their base and then coordinate with your team for kills. Once they are dead, proceed to pushing inside the enemy’s base. Destroy their towers and finally, their World Tree or Frozen Throne. You can probably have a god-like streak if you followed my strategy.

Section 9: Shuriken Toss Tips

1. Don’t use your Shuriken Toss if you don’t have enough mana to be able to Wind Walk after.
2. Harass your opponent with this skill. Target intelligence heroes first to deal major damage to them, because they have a really low HP early game.
3. If you’re looking for an early game kill with Shuriken Toss, be sure to use Shuriken Toss as your finisher, not a starting blow.
4. Don’t be afraid to spam Shuriken Toss when you have your Void Stone.
5. If you plan to use Shuriken Toss as a finisher, be sure you have to be close to the enemy since Shuriken Toss has a short range.
6. Don’t attempt using your Shuriken Toss when you’re up close with a stunner. You are extremely vulnerable, and you can end up getting killed. He will stun you before you even have a chance to use your Shuriken Toss.
7. In the late game, most people think that Shuriken Toss loses its usefulness. But you can still use Shuriken Toss effectively late game. Just like Zeus’ Lightning Bolt, Shuriken Toss can be spammed on the enemy’s ranged creep for the instant kill. Use this to wipe out creeps faster.
8. Don’t use Shuriken Toss to kill steal. Only use it for a kill if you are the one who has thoroughly damaged the enemy hero. It is unethical to kill steal with Shuriken Toss and your allies will probably get pissed by you.
9. Use your Shuriken Toss all the time if you have the mana! It is meant for spamming and don’t hesitate to use it.
10. Always remember that you have to be close to the enemy in order to cast Shuriken Toss.

Section 10: Wind Walk Tips

1. Gondar’s Wind Walk is both used for offense and defense.
2. Always be alert when the enemy is going to backstab you. Wind Walk away to safety. Avoid getting killed!
3. Use your Wind Walk to get some early game kills. When the enemy hero in your lane has little HP left, wait for him to push near your tower. Activate Wind Walk, and attack him. Surely you will kill him because of the bonus backstab damage it gives. If not, finish him off with a Shuriken Toss.
4. Chasing an enemy is great with Wind Walk. Enemies usually don’t notice that the Bounty Hunter is right behind them. Use this to your advantage.
5. Don’t be afraid to spam Wind Walk. Just remember that you always have to reserve 75 mana in case you need to use Wind Walk.
6. Ambush opponents with Wind Walk whenever you can. When you see a lone hero farming in a lane, go for the kill! You might not notice it, but you are helping your team tremendously!
7. Always find time to push lanes. You have Wind Walk, so you can be aggressive in pushing lanes. But take note when enemy heroes start to buy gems to counter your Wind Walk.
8. Confuse your opponents with Wind Walk! When your HP is low, but your enemy hero in your lane has low life too, use your Wind Walk. He will usually think that you have retreated. Wait for the perfect moment, and when the time is right, finish him off with a Shuriken Toss!
9. Whenever you want to buy items in the secret shop, use your Wind Walk to get there for safety reasons.
10. If you go into a battle by using Wind Walk, always remember to have the next Wind Walk’s cooldown is nearly up so you can use it again in case you have to.

Section 11: Farming with Gondar

How well you farm usually decide how you fare later on the game. It’s important for every hero to be able to farm consistently, and no exception to the Bounty Hunter. Farming ability is what makes or breaks Gondar’s game. The Bounty Hunter is an item-dependent hero, so farming is really an important factor. Since you are a melee agility hero, farming during early game is miserable. You have to avoid being careless or you will end up getting killed. Here are just some of the ways to be able to farm with ease:

- Don’t forget to buy your Ring of Regeneration and Flask of Sapphire Water at the start. These two items will be handy in Gondar’s survival.
- The most important thing for farming is getting those last hits! When you see an enemy creep’s HP turn red, hold “C” and click on the creep for the last hit.
- Be patient! Don’t go attacking enemy creeps at will. You will probably take some damage, and your HP is not that high to absorb too many of that hits.
- Always be on the lookout of your enemy creeps’ lifebar. Hold down “ALT” to see if their HP is red.
- Deny your enemy heroes experience! Also take note of the HP of your own creeps. If you see one of your own creeps’ HP turn red, hold “C” and attack him. You will be several levels up if you do this tactic.
- When you are being harassed by the enemy, go back to your ranged creep and leech experience.
- If you are badly hurt, activate Wind Walk and go back to the safety of your tower. Then use your Flask of Sapphire Water.
- Just run around your creeps and when you see an enemy creep’s HP turns red, then that’s the time to go attack that creep.
- Avoid getting near the enemy creeps at all costs. Only get near them if you are sure you can attack an enemy creep for the last hit.
- If you are getting hit by the enemy’s ranged creep, pull back a little and wait until the ranged creep hits another target.

Section 12: Killing with Gondar

Gondar can get hero kills all throughout the game. From early game to late game, Gondar’s skills will enable him to kill heroes all the time. Just remember that he can run out of mana quite easily, since his skills are mana-depleting. Here are the ways to kill heroes with Gondar at the earliest possible level to level 25:

- Once you have at least level 1 Wind Walk and level 2 Shuriken Toss, you can go for that elusive first blood. Wait for an enemy hero in your lane push until he is near your tower. Activate Wind Walk, and then whack him repeatedly. He will also get hit by your tower since it hits the target with the lowest HP. With you and the tower attacking him, the enemy hero will surely go down easily. Use your Shuriken Toss as a finisher to ensure that you get the 100 gold and avoid having the tower get the kill.
- When you acquire your Sange and Yasha, you can wreck havoc against the opposing team. Since you have the Maim effect, you have a great chance to slow the enemy and get extra hits.
- If you want to get kills in the mid game, always use your Wind Walk to attack the enemy for the bonus damage. This will enable Gondar to deal damage fast, and be able to wear out the enemy hero before he has the chance to use his skills against you. Always be the aggressor. Your high damage will almost always make you come out on top.
- Once you get your damage items you will be very hard to stop. Just surprise your enemies as often as you can, and they will get pounded by your insane damage. Watch their HP bar drop like a hot potato.
- When you engage an enemy hero in the river, 1v1, don’t be afraid. Running away will only deprive you of getting the kill. If you see an enemy hero in the river, activate Wind Walk. Get the rune, and whatever it is, use it against the enemy. If it is Double Damage, kill the enemy while you have the chance.
- When you are giving chase to a fleeing hero, always use Track. This will ensure that you catch to the enemy and kill him with a Shuriken Toss. The Bounty Hunter is blazingly fast with Track on, so use this to your advantage.
- If then enemy you are chasing gets past his tower, continue to give chase if you are positive that you will kill him. If not, don’t give chase. Getting killed is worse than getting the kill. Always remember that.
- You can’t solo Roshan, no matter what build you choose. You need your allies if you are planning to kill Roshan. A Bounty Hunter with Satanic and Divine Rapiers can kill Roshan, but those items are not suitable to Gondar.
- When facing a stunner, be on alert. If you have a Linken’s Sphere then it won’t be a problem. But if you don’t have it, be on the lookout. Deal with stunners carefully. Don’t attempt to attack them if you’re low on life.
- After a kill, be sure to use your Wind Walk to escape since enemies will see that you are also damaged. Remember, a death is worse than a kill!

Section 13: Using Gondar in Team Play

Gondar is mainly known as a hero killer. Most games have the Bounty Hunter with the most kills. People also probably think that Gondar is by no means a team player. Yes, his skills are based on hero killing, but some can help the team tremendously. Gondar’s ability to harass heroes is a great asset to any team. His tactics make him a superior damage dealer, which is useful to winning a game. Popping out of nowhere and damaging enemy heroes is Gondar’s way of helping a team. Here are just some of the ways you can use Gondar as a team player:

- If Gondar has the Battle Fury, he becomes a tremendous farmer. Utilize this by pushing lanes and destroying enemy towers in the process.
- If Gondar has the Boots of Travel, he can push multiple lanes. With high damage and high attack speed, he can wipe out enemy creeps in record time. Plus, the Bounty Hunter has Wind Walk to escape ganks that will prevent him to push.
- During early game, Shuriken Toss has high damage. Use your Shuriken Toss to deal major damage to an enemy hero and have your lane partner to finish him off.
- This is the most useful way of Gondar to help the team: Track. Use your Track to reveal invisible enemy heroes like Rikimaru and Bone Clinks. Both heroes are vulnerable when revealed, and your allies can make short work of them. No need to buy Sentry Wards or Gems of True Sight. Track can make Rikimaru and Bone Clinks completely visible for long amounts of time.
- If you see an ally fighting with a Stealth Assassin or Bone Fletcher, quickly cast Track before they turn invisible again. Your teammate will be very grateful.
- If you and an ally are chasing a fleeing hero, be sure to cast Track for the armor reduction and for you to be able to catch up to the fleeing hero.
- With Wind Walk, you can scout the map at will. You can also warn your allies for ganks that might occur.
- If you find a lone enemy wandering around while you are in Wind Walk, coordinate with your allies. As much as possible try to kill the enemy hero together and push the lane he’s currently in.
- In large team battles, always attack from behind. Your element of surprise will turn the odds of winning to your team.
- If your ally has a helpful AOE spell (Ravage, Overgrowth, Reverse Polarity), then coordinate with your team to kill off the enemies one by one. This will ensure that at least your team gets a kill. Give chase to fleeing hero and cast your Track.

Section 14: Having Fun with Gondar

Gondar is really fun to play as. His skills make him always the focal point of your team’s offense. You will never tire playing as Gondar, whether it is AP or AR. Personally, I pick Gondar in serious AP matches. If I get him in AR, I always repick. Anyway, here are just some of the ways you can have fun with Gondar in a game:

- During early game, harass your enemy! For me, harassing an enemy is a lot of fun! Just cast your Shuriken Toss whenever you have the mana. The enjoyment you get to feel when you frustrate your enemy is priceless.
- When you are in Wind Walk, you can go around the map at will! Pick up some runes, and if it is Double Damage, sneak up behind your enemy and whack him to death! Usually he will not have time to react.
- Cast Track on your enemy’s chicken to follow it wherever it may go.
- If you have Helm of Dominator and an ally Centaur Warchief, you can have loads of fun! Use your Wind Walk and dominate a Centaur Khan. Ask your ally Bradwarden to attack the enemy while your Centaur Khan attacks from behind! Then have him do a stun while you pop out of your Wind Walk and mercilessly attack him. Ask your ally Bradwarden to cast War Stomp if he gets away.
- If you want to get all the kills with the Bounty Hunter, use your Shuriken Toss as the finisher! You will probably get a lot of kills with this tactic. However, don’t abuse this ability because your allies will accuse you of kill stealing if they’re the ones who have damaged the enemy hero. Back off to have your ally get the last hit. You have a lot of kills anyway under your belt by the time you reach level 16.

Section 15: Good Allies

IPB Image
Omniknight

Purist Thunderwrath is Gondar’s best choice for a lane partner. His Purification heals you tremendously during the early game. Repel is a great spell to help you handle nukers with absolute ease. You can also save mana for your Track since his Degen Aura can help you catch up to a fleeing hero with ease. Only use Track if your enemy can turn invisible. Lastly, Guardian Angel makes you invulnerable for as long as 7 seconds. That time is usually enough for you to kill an enemy hero with the fear of being defeated. Truly, the Omniknight is your best friend.

IPB Image
Treant Protector

His Overgrowth is the best team disabling skill in the game. It lets your team to pounce on multiple enemy heroes. Be sure to take note of this. Kill the nearest enemy hero and have your teammates handle the rest. Your team can gain an advantage if you have gotten a few kills after Overgrowth. Not only is Overgrowth is his useful skill. Living Armor, coupled with your Ring of Regeneration, helps you survive the early game. Eyes of the Forest also help Gondar avoid backstabbers

IPB Image
Magnataur

Magnus is a great supporter. Empower is like a mini God’s Strength. In the late game Empower becomes even more powerful. Coupled with Gondar’s high attack damage, he can kill strength heroes with Empower on. His ultimate, Reverse Polarity is the second best team disabling skills in the game after Rooftrellen’s Overgrowth. It helps you catch all enemies gathered into one place.

IPB Image
Ogre Magi

His Bloodlust skill alone makes him one of Gondar’s most valued allies. The Bounty Hunter becomes much stronger when he is in Bloodlust. Aggron Stonebreaker also has a stun, so there’s no running away from the Ogre Magi.

IPB Image
Goblin Techies

His capabilities to kill enemy heroes in the early game without them noticing makes him a great lane partner with Gondar. Plus, his Remote Mines can also act like Observer Wards! Your enemy Rikimaru or Bone Clinkz will have a hard time. Gondar can also push the lane with ease. The Goblin Techies can destroy towers easily with his mines, so use that to your advantage. His Stasis Trap is a good combo with Rooftrellen’s Overgrowth. So when you have them both as teammates, you can really wreck havoc!

Section 16: Worst Enemies

IPB Image
Slithereen Guard

Slardar is a fearsome opponent. His Amplify Damage counters your Wind Walk, and he has his deadly Slithereen Crush. Avoid him at all costs if you can. If you happen to encounter a Slithereen Guard, he will probably cast Amplify Damage as soon as he sees you. And, if you get caught in his stun, you will probably be dead in a few hits because he also has a natural bash. Be sure to escape once you encounter him. Don’t attempt to take him alone because you will regret it. If he activates Sprint, try to land a few hits on him because he takes more damage. Also try to cast Track on him for the armor reduction. If you have good items, you can counter attack him when he activates his Sprint. Expert Slardar players know when to activate Sprint, so watch out.

IPB Image
Phantom Assassin

Her ultimate makes her a deadly opponent. 4 times her natural high damage is certainly no joke. She can kill you in a few hits because of Gondar’s laughable HP. Be sure to surprise her to get the jump on her. However, her Blur skill makes her hard to see herself. Activate Wind Walk if you are losing the battle against her, since running away from Mortred is for naught because of her Blink Strike. Remember, you can never ever outrun a Phantom Assassin. She is one of the best hero killers in the game for that matter.

IPB Image
Butcher

Meat Hook is the main reason that Pudge is terrifying to face at all times. You may never know when he will use Meat Hook. You might think that you will be farming peacefully in a lane, when suddenly Pudge uses his Meat Hook from nowhere. When you get caught in a Meat Hook, immediately activate your Wind Walk to avoid a death. Otherwise his Rot and Dismember will make short work of the Bounty Hunter.

IPB Image
Faceless Void

The strongest hero Gondar can probably ever face. When he has items like the Butterfly and a Buriza-do Kyanon, he is so difficult to handle. If the Bounty Hunter gets caught inside the Chronosphere and Darkterror has these items, Gondar is dead in a matter of seconds. Avoid getting trapped in his Chronosphere no matter what. If he goes for a permabash build and you get caught in his bash, you can’t escape from him. It is also hard to damage a Faceless Void, since he has Backtrack. Killing him will surely be a daunting task. Make sure you’re prepared or you will be toasted.

IPB Image
Troll Warlord

He is so unstoppable come late game. If you let him farm for his items, you will have a headache in the late game. You’d think twice on taking him on. Worse, he can pretty much stop your surprise attacks because he has Blind, which can make you miss your attacks rather badly. If Jah’rakal has good items, plan carefully if killing him comes into mind. Fervor and Rampage will almost always ensure his victory if you attempt to take him head on. Always try to harass him during the early stages of the game so he can’t do anything to you later on. Spam that Shuriken Toss!

Section 17: Easy Preys

IPB Image
Lord of Olympia

It’s no surprise that Zeus is one of Gondar’s easy preys. Every hero out there will try to kill Zeus whenever they can, because he’s an annoyance. Zeus is very fragile, so killing him is just a footnote in your god-like streak. Get back at him if he manages to kill with his ultimate. Zeus has no escape mechanism whatsoever, so killing him will be a breeze. Even he has a Lothar’s Edge, your Track will make mincemeat out of him.

IPB Image
Enchantress

She’s so easy to kill. Her HP is by far the lowest in the game, so it’s natural that she’d be one of your easy preys. Don’t be afraid of her Untouchable, she will be dead in just a few hits from the Bounty Hunter. No problem at all. Kill her when you see her lurking in a lane alone. Don’t waste your opportunity.

IPB Image
Dwarven Sniper

Kardel Sharpeye should be one of the Bounty Hunter’s free kills. He can’t defend himself well when an enemy is near him, and that’s precisely where Gondar unleashes his wrath at all times. A couple of criticals from your Jinada should probably enough to kill him. Cast Track if he uses his Wind Walk from a Lothar’s Edge. Usually, all Kardel players get that as their first core item.

IPB Image
Nerubian Weaver

His armor is so low, that you can probably kill Anub’seran in three hits. Cast Track on him as soon as possible, because he might escape with Shikuchi. Give chase if you’re sure you will kill him. Otherwise, forget it because Shikuchi’s cooldown is 7 seconds.

IPB Image
Oblivion

Pugna is one of the weakest heroes in the game. Killing him is an easy task. His Life Drain is channeling so there’s no need to worry about it. Just come out of your Wind Walk and hit him a few times. He’ll go down in no time.

Section 18: Hero Matchups

I will list every hero in the game, and how Gondar should deal with them. This section shows how the Bounty Hunter should handle every hero listed below. Strategies for beating every hero using Gondar is shown below. Be sure not to miss this section!

Take note:

RED corresponds to Strength Heroes
BLUE corresponds to Agility Heroes
GREEN corresponds to Intelligence Heroes

IPB Image

Anti-Mage: Magina is a threat to the Bounty Hunter once he gets his Cranium Bashers and Butterfly. Otherwise, he is a normal enemy to Gondar. It’s because the Bounty Hunter doesn’t use too much mana, so his Mana Void will not be so strong. When he chases you, just activate your Wind Walk. However, when you get stunned courtesy of the bash from the Cranium Basher, he can kill you before you know it because of his high damage. Be sure to escape at once. In addition, he can be a pain to chase after, because he has Blink. Blink also has a cooldown of 5 seconds, so forget it.
Difficulty: 8/10

IPB Image

Axe: He is the best defensive character in DOTA so you’re really in for a challenge. He can counter your rapid attacks with Counter Helix. Retreat when you see that Gondar is taking too much damage from Counter Helix after a series of attacks. Mogul Kahn players often get the Aegis of Immortal as soon as they can, so he can be a really dangerous threat in the battlefield. As much as possible have your teammates on hand when you attempt to take him on. He can absorb a lot of punishment before he dies. Always outnumber him for best results.
Difficulty: 9/10

IPB Image

Bane Elemental: Atropos is another rarely used character in DOTA. All of skills are focused on weakening the enemy hero, which makes him a pesky enemy hero if he is in the same lane as you are. His ultimate, Fiend’s Grip, will give you disastrous results. Always anticipate when he casts Fiend’s Grip, since you cannot move or attack in 5 seconds. In that span, his teammates can make short work of the Bounty Hunter. His stats are also balanced, so you can’t point out his weaknesses.
Difficulty: 8/10

IPB Image

Beastmaster: Rexxar is a new hero that came out in version 6.30. I have faced very few Beastmaster players, so I really can’t point out some counters against him yet. However, I can tell that he is a good farmer and hero killer courtesy of his skills. Be sure to watch out for his Quilbeast summon, since it has an imbalanced slow that Gondar cannot handle. His ultimate is also quite painful to the Bouny Hunter, so try your best to anticipate when he is going to use it. Always try to backstab him because he is quite a threat to handle head on. Backstabbing Rexxar is often the best way to be able to kill him.
Difficulty: 7/10

IPB Image

Bloodseeker: His capabilities to survive the early game without regeneration items make him a load to handle. Also, Strygwry’s Thirst is a lot like Track, since he gains vision of the unit and he also has additional movespeed. There’s no escape from the Bloodseeker. Rupture can prevent your escape, and at the same time he mercilessly attacks you. Gondar’s Wind Walk is for naught because of the Strygwry’s Thirst. Keep that in mind. The Bloodseeker is one of the best hero killers in the game in 1v1 combat. So try to ask your allies to help you if you’re trying to kill him. He will have problems if he faces multiple odds. Use this advantage to turn to battle into your favor.
Difficulty: 7.5/10

IPB Image

Bone Fletcher: He is known as DOTA’s best hero killer, so naturally you’ll have to watch out for him. All of his skills are for ambushing, escaping and killing. Fortunately, his ultimate is not that useful. You’d still have to watch out for him though. The Bone Fletcher’s base damage is low, but none of that will matter once he gets better items. Bone Clinkz players often get damage items like the Monkey King Bar or the Buriza-do Kyanon. Be sure to watch out. He has his Wind Walk to escape, but you can counter that with Track, meaning he can’t always get the upper hand on you. Quickly cast Track once you see a Bone Fletcher. When you see him activate Strafe, don’t escape and try to fight him. His HP is lower than yours, so have no fear. You will still usually win the fight because of the Bounty Hunter’s high damage. However, if you are being defeated, quickly make your escape with Wind Walk. Also, in team battles, the best thing you can do for the team if there is an enemy Bone Fletcher is to cast Track on him. Now, coordinate with your teammates to get the kill on him. If you have an ally with a stun, it works well on him. Always try to kill him first in team battles.
Difficulty: 9.5/10

IPB Image

Bristleback: Rigwarl is the lone hero in DOTA that can easily counter backstabs because of his annoying Bristleback ability, which gives him 60% reduced damage from the rear. That’s huge. Because of that, the bonus damage you get when you backstab out of a Wind Walk is for naught. Try to tackle him up front. Fortunately, his stat growth isn’t all that impressive, so you are relatively stronger than he is. Watch out when Warpath occurs, though. If he has Cranium Bashers and Warpath triggers, you’re as good as dead. On the positive side, you can probably kill him if you have gotten the Monkey King Bar. Watch his HP drop in seconds. Just remember that you cannot backstab him! He is also rather slow so you can chase him easily with Track if he tries to escape. Always use Shuriken Toss on him as the finisher since his Bristleback ability has no effect against nukes.
Difficulty: 6/10

IPB Image

Broodmother: Next to the Goblin Techies, she is probably the hardest enemy lane hero you can have. She will probably spam 4 or 5 webs in your lane, so it is hard to see whether she is attacking or not. You’ll also probably have a hard time predicting what she will do next. She can pop out of nowhere out of her webs and can use her deadly Incapacitating Bite on you. When this happens, use your Wind Walk. Don’t be foolish enough to activate Wind Walk when you’re still inside her web. Wait until you are safely outside her web, and activate your Wind Walk. When you get to level 6, you can counter her with Track. Cast your Track on her, and you should be able to see her even when she is in her web. She is quite fragile, so harass her with her Shuriken Toss. You also will probably rack up the gold since the Broodmother will also summon her Spiderlings. Kill them for extra gold. Also, always keep in mind that you can’t kill her without using your Track. Before attempting to kill a Broodmother, always cast Track at first hand for best results. You can kill her fast before she has a chance to use her ultimate.
Difficulty: 8/10

IPB Image

Butcher: Pudge is the best assassin in the game. He can easily kill anyone as early as level 5. His Meat Hook is the best non-ultimate skill in the game. When the Butcher is in your lane, be sure to move all the time. Don’t ever stand in one place or his deadly Meat Hook will drag you and with Rot, will surely kill you at this stage of the game. When farming, don’t go too close to Pudge or he will take advantage of the situation. Activate your Wind Walk for a quick escape in case you get caught in his Meat Hook. You can’t afford to be killed or sent to the fountain. Harass him whenever you can while he still hasn’t gotten his Ring of Health. When he has them, don’t bother harassing him. Later in the game you will surely need your allies’ help to bring this monstrosity down. Gank him with groups of 3 or more to ensure he dies. Also remember to be always alert when a Butcher is around. You may never know when the Meat Hook will come out or from. Often, Pudge players wait among the trees and wait for the perfect opportunity for a Meat Hook. That’s why the Butcher is certainly one of Gondar’s best adversaries. You never feel safe with the Butcher lurking around looking for victims to use his Meat Hook. His combo of Meat Hook-Dismember-Rot will kill you in a few seconds. You might not have a chance to use your Wind Walk. The only advantages a Bounty Hunter can have over the Butcher are if the Pudge player is noob and Wind Walk.
Difficulty: 10/10

IPB Image

Centaur Warchief: The ultimate tank of DOTA. No one can match him in his brute strength and endurance. Gondar obviously will have problems taking this behemoth down. Try to harass him with Shuriken Toss to get the upper hand in the early game. Before level 6, he is just another Strength hero. Once he gets his Great Fortitude, he is never the same. His Hoof Stomp is a great annoyance to the Bounty Hunter. Bradwarden players usually opt for this combo: Blink-Hoof Stomp-Double Edge. That’s why most Centaur Warchief players opt to get the Blink Dagger. The combos that he can execute with Blink are devastating. If he casts Double Edge on you and you are still alive, try to land a hit or two followed by a Shuriken Toss. Then Wind Walk away. You should probably make him go back to the fountain during earlier levels, but not anymore once he gets his favorite item, the Heart of Tarrasque. Your element of surprise is your friend if you want to kill Bradwarden. If you see him blink toward you, quickly get out of the way because a Hoof Stomp is coming. He is really hard to take on, but you can beat him if you go for the permabash build. Otherwise, have your teammates be on hand.
Difficulty: 8.5/10

IPB Image

Chaos Knight: Nessaj is the hero with the fastest base movement speed in the game, so you really need your Track if killing him comes into mind. He is also a great chaser, so Wind Walk immediately if you’re having trouble with Nessaj. He can harass you with Chaos Bolt, plus his Critical Strike is painful. Shuriken Toss is your best asset if you want to chip away his HP at the early game. Stay away from him if he uses his Phantasm. You have basically no chance of countering his images unless you know which is the real one. Don’t also bother chasing him because he has Blink Strike. Backstab him once you see his life is low. A few criticals from Jinada and a Shuriken Toss should do it.
Difficulty: 8/10

IPB Image

Crystal Maiden: She’s an intelligence hero, so it’s relatively hard to survive with a nuker like Rylai in your lane. She will probably blast her Frost Nova at you whenever she has a chance, so watch out. Shuriken Toss works well on her, since she is so fragile. Just remember to have 75 mana reserved for Wind Walk in case you need to get away. Freezing Field does extreme damage to Gondar, so be sure to get away from the area to avoid taking the full damage of Freezing Field. Her Frostbite-Frost Nova combo can probably net her the first blood, so be careful dealing with her. Patience is the key when dealing with a nuker, so don’t attempt to kill her unless you are sure that your combo of Wind Walk-Hit-Hit-Hit-Shuriken Toss will kill her. Otherwise, you will get the brunt end of the stick and you will be the one who dies. She will become easier to deal with once the game progresses.
Difficulty: 7.5/10

IPB Image

Death Prophet: Krobelus is one of the better intelligence heroes. She’s a great pusher, so you probably will have a hard time defending your tower if she’s in your lane. Carrion Swarm does decent damage to the Bounty Hunter; she will probably spam it against you. At the early game, watch your HP. It might be low enough for her to kill you with her spammable Carrion Swarm. Her ultimate, Exorcism, is tough to handle. You cannot absorb all the damage of Exorcism, so kill her before you die first. She is vulnerable up close, so use your Wind Walk to surprise her. She also has Silence, so watch out for that. You might not be able to cast your Wind Walk and she will kill you with a Carrion Swarm if you’re attempting to escape.
Difficulty: 7/10

IPB Image

Demon Witch: Lion’s presence strikes fear in the hearts of enemy heroes in his lane. Gondar is no exception. The Demon Witch is capable of killing any hero during the early game. When he gets his Finger of Death, watch out. His combo of Hex-Impale-Finger will kill you for sure. You don’t have enough HP to be able to withstand his onslaught. Just be smart in dealing with Lion in the early game. Avoid coming close to him as much as possible, or you will regret it. He also might add Dagon in his arsenal, so watch out. After Impale, use your Wind Walk to escape before he casts Finger of Death. Counter his assault by throwing a couple of Shuriken Toss to him. When his HP is below 200, you can kill him. Use the usual method of backstabbing with Wind Walk to kill him. In the late game, he is no longer a threat. Feel free to kill him with your superior damage.
Difficulty: 7.5/10

IPB Image

Doombringer: With Scorched Earth and LVL Death at his disposal, he should be harassing you with constant ease. His Scorched Earth has a large AOE, so you must stay clear of it always. Be very careful in farming, you will notice that you will take serious damage if you stay in the Scorched Earth’s AOE for too long. Try to deny him creeps and spam that Shuriken Toss on him. When Lucifer gets Doom, quickly get the hell out of there and activate your Wind Walk to escape. Return to the fountain immediately before you die from Doom.
Difficulty: 8/10

IPB Image

Dragon Knight: Knight Davion is not much of a threat to you offensively, since his spells require a lot of mana. It means that he can’t constantly harass you at the beginning. However, Dragon Knight players often have a knack for one thing: insane HP regeneration. With Dragon Blood and a Ring of Health, you almost always can’t make him return to the fountain. Deny him creeps as much as possible and only try to kill him when you have your Sange and Yasha. By this time, he is probably saving for his Reaver so this is your chance to disrupt his progress, and make him a non-factor later on.
Difficulty: 7/10

IPB Image

Drow Ranger: She is one of the best heroes in the game. Traxex can harass you with Frost Arrows. She is also a great creep killer, with her Marksmanship learned. Try to backstab her as much as possible, as she has little defense up front. Quickly cast Track to prevent her from escaping, as good Traxex players get the Lothar’s Edge. Harass her with Shuriken Toss, but only do this when she gets in close with your creeps. Otherwise, don’t bother. She is a great chaser because of Frost Arrows, and can disable your Wind Walk because of her Silence. Kill her before she kills you. That’s a thing you should remember when facing a Drow Ranger.
Difficulty: 8.5/10

IPB Image

Dwarven Sniper: If you want to kill him, just get close to him. Activate your Wind Walk, and whack him before he even has a chance to react. He will die in a few seconds. When farming with Kardel in your lane, try always to get the last hits on creeps. Don’t go foolishly up close, because he will blast you and Headshot might occur. When you have little HP and you’re facing him, kill him first. Also, if he activates Assassinate before you activate Wind Walk, you will die even if you’re invisible. Keep that in mind. Cast Track on him and whack him up close. He’ll go down easily.
Difficulty: 5.5/10

IPB Image

Earthshaker: Raigor can be a pesky opponent because all of his skills can be painful. When he gets his Blink Dagger, he is quite difficult to handle. He will blink near you, and cast Echo Slam. When that happens, activate your Wind Walk immediately. Fissure can also kill you at a good range, so keep out of the way. He is a good team hero, so tell your teammates to avoid sticking close to one another because one Echo Slam means his teammates will get to pounce on you. Remember that Fissure can also prevent your escape, so always use Wind Walk to go through it. If you face him alone, always surprise him to get the upper hand. Enchant Totem and Aftershock can hurt you badly, so avoid the Earthshaker if you don’t have the appropriate items yet.
Difficulty: 8/10

IPB Image

Enchantress: She is the weakest hero in the game, in terms of stats. She is very fragile, so you can kill her in a blink of an eye. The only thing to watch out when you face the Enchantress is that she can stay in her lane very long because of her Nature’s Attendants. Her Impetus also hurts, but it won’t matter because you will deal most of your damage up close. With Sange and Yasha, she will die in a matter of seconds.
Difficulty: 4/10

IPB Image

Enigma: Darchrow is a good team player. He is no threat alone. But his usefulness in team battle is unmatched. In team battles, tell your team to kill the Enigma first or he will unleash his devastating Black Hole. After using Black Hole, he will probably tell his allies to stun. When that happens, the battle is now completely in their favor. He is also a great pusher with Conversion, so try to backstab him to prevent the push.
Difficulty: 6.5/10

IPB Image

Faceless Void: He is to be feared in all stages of the game. Darkterror has it all; a natural bash, an escape mechanism and a powerful ultimate. There are only 2 advantages a Bounty Hunter can have over a Faceless Void. Those are: The Faceless Void is a bad farmer, and your Wind Walk. Use those two advantages wisely. Backstabbing him is a great idea, but he will probably get away with Time Walk. If he is wounded badly, he will use his Chronosphere to escape. Killing a Faceless Void is a daunting task. Try to get him near your tower, then come out of your Wind Walk and damage him before he casts his Chronosphere. Chances are, he will get hit by your tower and you, so he will attempt to escape. Now is a good time to cast your Track and give chase. Time Walk has a long cooldown, so you might catch him and kill him. As an added note, don’t ever get caught in his Chronosphere. When he doesn’t have a gem, you can always escape Chronosphere. Since it has a casting time, you have a second to cast Wind Walk. If you did it correctly, you will be trapped inside the Chronosphere; but he will not be able to see you because you’re invisible! This is a good way to make Darkterror waste his ultimate.
Difficulty: 10/10

IPB Image

Goblin Techies: He may be one of your best allies, but he is a nightmare to face. When he is in the same lane, you’re going to have difficult time farming and leveling up. Avoid him if he’s charging towards you when you just got to your lane! He will probably use his Suicide Attack to get the first blood. When facing him, keep a good distance from him because he has mines around him. If you get the chance, hit him with Shuriken Toss if he’s close to you. But that rarely happens, because the Goblin Techies has an amazing 650 range. Try to get wards and a gem to counter his mines. Remember to destroy the mines you see when you have a gem! Be also very careful in going to the secret shop because he has probably a few Remote Mines there waiting to explode.
Difficulty: 8/10

IPB Image

Gorgon: She is capable to taking quite a load of punishment because of her Mana Shield. Medusa is hard to bring down, so have your allies on hand. She will harass you with Chain Lightning, and her Purge will make you easy prey for her. Activate your Wind Walk to escape the probable onslaught that may occur. When she gets an Aegis of the Immortal, killing her will probably require your whole team! So make sure to always kill her before she has the chance to get stronger, or you will regret it.
Difficulty: 8.5/10

IPB Image

Holy Knight: Playing as Chen requires experience. So if you happen to face a good Chen player, you’re in for a good battle. Always kill Chen first before his creeps. However, his creeps won’t die when you kill the Holy Knight. Try to kill the Centaur Kahn and the Furbolg Ursa Warrior first, since they have damaging stuns that Gondar cannot endure. Activate your Wind Walk and kill him. In team battles, it is always advisable to kill him first since h
